About me

Hi, I am Nikki – lovely to meet you here!

I have a deep passion for intertwining relationships and art, using my camera as a tool to unite these two worlds.

The idea that I can freeze precious, every day moments for my clients to enjoy for decades to come, thrills me at every photo session! I am living my dream, my passion and I thank God every day for every opportunity where I use this gift to tell stories – YOUR story in visuals.

I can confidently say that I am a total people person.

I am often described as a very easy going person whose presence is non intrusive and very positive under all circumstances. I feel very lucky to be able to work with both global and local clients.

Who is my ideal client? YOU are – just as you are. I love meeting new people and being very adaptable, I connect easily with others.

You will find that my portfolio is varied – from studio and lifestyle photography to interiors and small weddings. This is because I LOVE photography and how it can serve multiple genres. I also enjoy being challenged and learning something new is food for my soul.

I have a light soul – I seek to find light in every person or subject in front of my lens. My work is often described as ‘full of joy’, ‘so spontaneous’, ‘so soft, bright and light with an artistic flair to it'

“If the photographer is interested in the people in front of her lens, and if she is compassionate, it’s already a lot. The instrument is not the

camera but the photographer.”

Eve Arnold

Bonding with my clients before and/or during a photo session (whether this is by phone call, text or face to face over a cup of quality coffee) is very important to me. My wish is that clients will feel that they are spending time with an old friend, rather than being engaged in a formal, staged photo session with a stranger. So, I here I share a few every day details of myself:
  • 3 Words I live by – Balance, gratefulness, relationships
  • I am based in Stellenbosch – a picturesque Winelands town in the Western Cape, South Africa.
  • I obtained my degree in Fine Arts (specialising in Graphic design) from the university of Stellenbosch in 2006.
  • I am a very sensitive soul and have a soft spot for small children and animals in particular.
  • I got married to Francois Kapp (Kappie) in January 2010 in the Overberg region.
  • We are a family of 6 – myself, husband Kappie and 4 little ones – Johnny, Nia, Olivia & Ameri.
  • A few random facts about me: I love reading – anything from home interior blogs to magazines and Christian inspirational books. I have a wide range of interests – Pinning across the web (oh, I love Pinterest!); Watching sport; Camping and traveling; Losing myself in quaint little interior or book shops; Cooking (I simply love cooking – especially trying out new low carb recipes); Snorkeling; Staying fit. I am a real nostalgic and hanging out in places with historical significance, in particular majestic gardens or architectural wonders, fill me with excitement. My favourite place on earth is the small coastal town of De Kelders close to Gansbaai in the Overberg, but I will go back to Rome or the South of France at the drop of a hat; I am a life long student who never gets bored learning new skills!

I look forward to meeting you!
