What an honour and privilege it was to capture the wedding day of this dear friend of mine, beautiful bride Celia. Husband Ricky is American and Celia did all the scouting and planning for their special day with the help of her friends and family. Celia is one of the most down to earth, unpretentious people I know and their wedding choices reflected exactly that. The venue, Terra de Luc is nestled at the foot of the Franschhoek mountains. Her choice of décor (bare wooden tables, lots of candles, olive branches and delicate fynbos flowers) perfectly suited who she is. At first Celia had a different wedding dress design in mind to the one she wore on their wedding day – and wow – her classic, stylish white dress fitted her like a glove! She was an absolute vision with her lovely delicate features and lace bolero. Her friends and family all helped with the wedding arrangements – she did the table décor and flower arrangements with lots of help from many of her church friends, her sister baked the most divine wedding cake and her parents’ neighbour was responsible for the wedding car – a classic ‘Mr Bean’ mini (Celia absolutely lóves Mr Bean)! I was in awe of her beautiful make-up – did by herself!! Ricky is a gentle soul and together they have so much fun – it was so easy to capture real emotions during their couple session! The couple is currently in the USA which will be home for now. May God bless this couple – they are special indeed!
