Sheldon contacted me a few weeks ago and with much excitement told me in the finest detail about his planned proposal to the lovely Phylicia and how he would love for me to capture it all as it happened (I think hiring a professional photographer for this is one of the best decisions you can make as a couple – you will most definitely cherish these surprise images forever!).

Sheldon chose one of the finest wine farms in Stellenbosch, Cavalli Estate. Myself and a friend of the couple who was in charge of the music, hid behind the shrubs about 12 meters from where the couple approached the area where Sheldon planned on going down on one knee. I was geared with my 70-200mm f2.8 lens to grab the moment as it happened. I was so excited on behalf of this sweet couple, I couldn’t stop pushing the camera’s shutter :-) – it was just such an exciting moment and the sheer surprise and tears of joy that flowed from the big moment is a photographer’s dream to capture. Massive congratulations Sheldon and Phylicia – I count myself lucky to have met you and to have captured the start of this exciting new journey for you!

Nikki captured my surprise wedding proposal to my girlfriend in Cape Town recently. As a photographer myself, I had very high expectations so I was extremely pleased when I found Nikki, she was an absolute pleasure to work with and exceeded my expectations in respect of the quality of the images I received :) Nikki is extremely professional and very talented, I had a very detailed idea in my head and Nikki definitely played a huge role in executing it. We interacted via email as I am based in Johannesburg whilst she is based in Cape Town.
