Pc & Eliska (E-shoot) | 29 Februarie 2012 | Kalkbaai

A big thank you to newly engaged couple Pc & Eliska for this shoot! It was quite an experimental one from my side and I was totally out of my comfort zone. Why? I put a Nikon body to the test :) I had my Canon 5Dii with my trusted 50mm f1.2 on the one arm and a giant Nikon D3s with 24-70 / 85mm on the other arm! I know my 5D like the palms of my hands by now and shooting with Nikon felt like being forced to drive a left hand car! But I’ve been wanting to do it for so long (a big thank you to Christine Meintjes for lending me her gear for the shoot) and finally had the chance to. Am I going to trade Canon for Nikon now? Maybe, but probably not since it is a massive financial switch and the new 5Diii that was launched last week (hopefully in SA by end of April?) looks very, very promising with 61 AF points compared to the current 9!

In case you are interested to see which shot was taken with which camera – there is either a C for Canon or N for Nikon underneath each shot. I must say the smoothness of the Nikon shots together with near perfect skin tones are fabulous!

Now back to our cute couple – Pc is a very talented photographer himself and I have had the privilege of working with him at quite a few of my weddings in the past. He and Eliska will tie the knot on the 26th of January next year. Judged by the fun we had on the couple shoot, I have a lot to look forward to then! Enjoy!
